Welcome to my blog. In this, my initial post, I’ll cover some background.

Who am I? I’m a programmer. A few bullet points:

  • I’m an L3 Stratis Fellow
  • I’ve written a number of articles for magazines from Advisor Publications, including the Internet Java/ActiveX Advisor, the Databased Web Advisor, and the eBusiness Advisor.
  • I wrote a book about Enterprise JavaBeans
  • I’ve been working as a programmer since 1990, on a variety of different platforms.

What is this blog about?

  • Software development

  • Here

  • Now

  • Because it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything professionally, and it’s time to get back at it.

I don’t really have a grand plan for this blog at this point. I plan to do reasonably frequent, generally brief updates. I’m keeping the scope intentionally broad, but the subject matter will be mostly generated by my work and interests as a programmer, so it’ll be mostly in the “architecture, design, development, and test” portions of the system development lifecycle.
